A Wedding on the 9th

Ever Mine, Ever Thine, Ever Ours

:: The Look ::

We could not wait for the 2010 wedding we will be having back home. So we had a small , very intimate, exchange of vows last friday, January 9th in the Private Lounge of Raffles Town Club. A civil Wedding witnessed by our close friends, who took a leave from work just to be with us.

Cozy and Personal, just the way we like it.

My best bud, Bryan, who insisted on taking over the preparations the moment he landed from Cebu, sang my very very very very very short bridal march. (Yes, even on a civil wedding, we had our own bridal march. Hahaha… they insisted I have one!) It was a one of my favorite Spanish love song which I translated to English one sleepless night, and was arranged by a good friend of mine, the piano master, Mark in just a couple of days. I can only imagine what he would have done if given more time.

James made me choke up a bit when he read his vows, and was saying mine with tear filled eyes. We were teasing each other weeks before our “first” wedding on who is done with his or her vow. I am happy that we get to personalized ours, as some churches don’t allow couples to have their own. One of the perks of a civil wedding. LOL.

It was an afternoon of Music, Dancing and good wishes. And yes.. lots of food!

Our wedding cake was made of pink and green cupcakes made by ate Janice. They are adorable, and everyone had nothing but good praises.

homemade cupcakes , fresh! yummy!

before this sweet temptations go public, I have the honor of having them especially made for my civil wedding

Almost everything was DIY… and as Bryan said this is exactly who I am. Everything has to have my touch (don’t know if that’s a good thing or not, LOL). Personalized and close to the heart. (This is manageable with just less than a dozen guests, I’ll be needing more busy hands for the church wedding. Hahha.. exciting!) Bryan also displayed his new found talent (to add to his already growing list), he made beautiful floral arrangements for our small celebrations.

Green scented candles with pale pink ribbons adorned the table just outside the private lounge. Where the makeshift guest book, with the black and whites photos of James and I, was placed and our friends can sign. They grab for the candles on our way out, if I’ve known, I would have brought more from IKEA. Hehehe. Beautiful things need not be expensive.

:: a shower of memories ::

We had Mrs.Belen V Hernandez-Tan as our Marriage Solemnizer and she said it is the most coziest wedding she had ever attended. And I am glad everyone had a wonderful time.

Imagine a wedding toast where friends gathered around us as they give us their greetings and shared their fondest memories of us. Especially this one.

We were literally surrounded with good friends, remembered old wonderful memories with them, feeling, seeing and touching, if possible, their happiness for us, and we couldn’t ask for more.

My mama called me up early Friday morning to wish us well. And my man of few words papa left this sms, which I have no plans of deleting EVER…

“As you step to a new stage in your life today, my best wishes and prayers for you. I hope it would be full of roses for you ahead. Good luck pangga. I have high trust on both of you.”

My papa doesn’t say much when it comes to what he feels, and he and mama gave me the best gift there is, their happiness for us and their blessing.

And to my Mi Amor, now my husband… nothing but my everything until the last sunset of our lives.
