Weird?

Something a little weird happened yesterday while I was in the restroom at our office. It’s a small two-cubicle, three-sink restroom located near the small pantry on the first floor. I was inside one of the cubicles and there’s no one else there. From inside the cubicle, you can also see the sink, the mirror and the two cubicles (in the mirror’s reflection) through the slits in the cubicle door.

I was minding my own business, when suddenly I heard the toilet in the next cubicle flushed. After awhile one of the sink faucets turned on and water came gushing out. Then it was followed by another. I was squinting my eyes to see if there was anybody there, (and partially hoping that I won’t see anyone/anything) and sure enough there was no one there.

For One More Day

Honestly, I am not a big fan of Valentines. With all the hype and craziness going on, unneeded pressure for both the singles and those in a relationship. Sometimes all the whish and woosh of this day takes what really matters most, and that is the LOVE that is shared between two people, shared by friends, shared by a family. LOVE in all sizes, shape and form.

This Valentines Day I miss him even more. I think one couldn’t help feeling that if you are away from someone you would have wanted to spend the day with (secretly making fun of other couples around you shhh.. LOL). But the day before Vday I’ve managed to have a temporary cure for that, which I will post later.

My teammates and some other filipino friends from the office went out for a Valentine lunch (or just to excuse ourself from the monotonous food from Cintech), my friend Neil wanted to join us. And I’m really glad to have lunch together with him cause we haven’t done so in awhile (Neil is a good friend of mine ever since high school, and he let me stay in his room during my first month here while he stayed with the rest of the boys in the other room. Truly an angel).

Mushy Tunes for the Heart

Happy Hearts Day dear friends.

Back at home, I remembered the days leading to the 14th of February are usually spent making small cards or other personal keepsakes. I remembered making little frame cards for the Aprilfools by hand, and it wasn’t an easy feat considering there were almost 20 of us. And that number continues to dwindle as time pass. One at a time people were resigning and some move out of the country. But the bond and the friendship still stands. Soon we will have Aprilfools Singapore version, since there are already four of us here and 2 more will be coming soon! But then I digress.

I wanted to give you all something to remember me by (naks, ang deep!) but since I’m far away, I hope these love song collections would do.

For the mushy month, I give you easy to listen to songs from the past till now. I won’t give you something I don’t listen to myself, these stuff are in my Ipod. So you’ll see just how jologs I am.

On Bad Customers to Good Service

We’ve all had our share of bad customer service. From salesladies who follow you like a shadow in the department stores (especially if you’re just in your staple jeans and shirt), to useless customer service representatives who talks in circles and are of no help. I am not generalizing, but hey, we have come across them at least once right?

So as I was saying, we all have our share of bad customer service, but what about bad customers?

Last night, I went to Orchard here in Singapore for my monthly remittance. There was a medium sized queue, where around 8 person were in line.

Standing maybe 2 or 3 person away from me is a short lady who is practically stomping her feet, heavily shifting her weight from one foot to the other. I don’t know if I’ve described it aptly, but imagine an irritated person nga dili mahimutang. We will call her Ms.Tikya

Able and Willing

i got this as my Zen for the day, and i thought of sharing it with you.

Sometimes there would be a rush of noisy visitors and the silence of the monastery would be shattered. This would upset the disciples; not the Master, who seemed just as content with the noise as with the silence. To his protesting disciples he said one day, “Silence is not the absence of sound, but the absence of self“.

We all need to have that moment in a day when we can find that Silence inside us. To live in harmony with ourself, and concurrently with the rest of the universe. We have to be willing to have it, and then we will be able to have it.

Sometimes staring into space isn’t such a bad thing.
